Schwarz Wine Co. is the creation of Jason Schwarz, who was drawn back to his roots in the Barossa Valley. Initially starting as a cellar hand, Jason discovered a deep connection with winemaking, recognizing it as an instinctive passion for working with grapes. Encouraged by a winemaking friend, he launched his own label in 2001, sourcing grapes from his family’s vineyards.

Over the years, Jason has cultivated strong relationships with a network of growers across the Barossa, each contributing unique characteristics influenced by their distinct microclimates and soils. His hands-on approach involves walking the vineyard rows, tasting fruit, and understanding the nuances of each season. Committed to creating vibrant, hand-crafted wines that authentically represent their origins, Jason embraces innovative and natural methods, including whole-bunch fermentation.

Starting with classic styles, his creativity has led to the development of lighter, more sophisticated wines that defy conventional winemaking rules. By focusing on intuition rather than technology, Jason aims to produce wines that resonate with his love for the Barossa and are meant to be shared with friends and family, each bottle telling a story of the region’s rich soils and seasonal variations.
